The Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) Has Awarded the Investor of the Year Awards for Last Year

In 2012 March 19, the Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) handed out the Investor of the Year Awards. During the ceremonies conducted at the Museum of Fine Arts, HITA gave awards to the companies that produced the most outstanding investment results. The goal of the awards, which were given out for a second time, were to recognize the enterprises that contributed through their investments the most to the development of the Hungarian economy and the increase in employment. The reception was opened by Erzsébet Dobos, the President of HITA. In her remarks, she emphasized that every single investment is significant beyond its immediate impact and strengthens the confidence toward Hungary and toward the Hungarian economy.

The award for "Supplier of the Year" was won by Csaba Metál Zrt. The Csaba Metál Zrt., which is completely owned by Hungarians, was established in 1999 as the successor to Majoros Metál Nyomásos Öntöde Kft. It manufactures castings with high pressure technology for the automotive industry, the furniture industry, and for agriculture. Its automotive customers include: Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Jaguar, Mercedes, Nissan, Renault, Rover, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo. In 2011, the company grossed 28 million euro, and the number of its employees exceeded 600 workers. The firm enjoys the quality system controls: ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and the developers of the company use AutoCAD, ProEngineer és SolidWorks planning software.

The Csaba Metál Zrt. has been unusually innovative. In 2011, it spent 2.1 million euro on the purchase of new machinery and laboratory equipment. The development program of the Békéscsaba plant has just recently been completed. It was supported by a 353.5 million Hungarian forint investment from the company’s own resources. The entire cost of the development program, including the support of the European Union, was 706 Hungarian forints. The work was completed in October 2012. Modern machine lines were installed in the new manufacturing unit, and new large capacity casting machinery was purchased, with which they will be able to manufacture complete gear boxes and motor blocks.
